Recently a government grant called the Local Energy Assessment Fund
(LEAF) was announced to enable local groups to survey energy usage in
their own communities. Bathford Energy Group was successful in applyng
for one of these grants in February 2012. As a result we carried out Whole House Surveys on 10 different types of property within the village, to find out the main areas of energy wastage for each of these types of property.
A summary of the survey results can be seen here - we hope that by looking at the results for a house similar to your own, you will be able to see what steps you can take to save on your own energy bill.
Also as part of the project we carried out Air Tightness Tests in several houses, and created a video that will help you identify sources of draughts in your own home.
